Itinerary

Day 1AKWAABA (WELCOME) - ARRIVAL

Arrive in Ghana. Meet and assist. Transfer to hotel. Welcome drink and orientation by DA Chariot staff.

Day 2ACCRA CITY TOUR

After breakfast, drive through the administrative or political route in Accra City, the Independence Square and Black Star square, a typical Ghanaian market (Makola Market), Ohene Djan Sports Stadium, Parliament or State House, National Theatre, Accra International Conference Center. Return to hotel, relaxation and swimming. Night out at +233 Jazz Bar and Grill.

Day 3KUMASI CITY – MANHYIA PALACE MUSEUM

Visit the Manhyia Palace Museum which was created within the old residence of Otumfuo Agyeman Prempeh I and Otumfuo Sir Osei Agyeman Prempeh II and continue to the Okomfo Anokye Sword Site.

Day 4CRAFT VILLAGES – ASSIN MANSO SLAVE RIVER

Visit the Ahwiaa crafts village, and the Bonwire Kente village a town popular for kente weaving. Kente is a colourful hand-woven Ghanaian traditional fabric which is worn mostly on important occasions and celebrations. And continue to visit the Assin Manso Slave River (Donkor Nsuo) where the slaves had their last bath before being sent to the Castles dungeons through the gates of ‘no return’ and transported to the Americas to work as slave stands condemned for all time. It is also the burial site of two enslaved Africans, Madam Crystal from Jamaica and Samuel Carson from the United States of America.

Day 5ELMINA CASTLE – KAKUM NATIONAL PARK

Visit the Elmina Castle formerly known as St. George’s Castle which was the first structure built by the Europeans in sub-Saharan Africa. It is about 6km west of Cape Coast and predominantly a fishing hub which was erected in 1482 and was completed according to its plan in 1486. The Elmina Castle receives many visitors each year because of its history as a major trans-Atlantic slave hub and is a preserved UNESCO’s World Heritage Site.

Enjoy a panoramic view through the Denkyira Kingdom to the Kakum National Park. It is one of West Africa’s surviving tropical rainforests. The key attraction is the tree canopy walkway that enables you to skywalk over the high tropical forest. It is a 350km long suspended bridge comprised of six tree platforms & seven connecting spans that stand 30metres above the forest ground.

Day 6LEISURE – DEPARTURE/ A DAY AT THE BEACH RESORT

Breakfast, last minute shopping or relax before Departure. Or a day more at the Beach Resort to return the next day.
